Drabble On (A Fairy Story)

The scene is Holodeck one. A play has just ended and the audience have given Kathryn a standing ovation.

Chakotay walks up to her breathless. She looks so beautiful in her costume. After all, the mirror did proclaim her 'The fairest in the land'.

"Kathryn, you were magnificent. And you just look so gorgeous."

"Why thank you, Chakotay." she holds a hand out and he kisses it.

"There's just one thing that puzzles me!"

"What's that Chakotay?" She touches his face with a loving caress.

"I thought Snowhite wasn't supposed to die after eating the poisoned apple. And the Wicked Stepmother wasn't the one proclaimed the fairest and most beautiful!"

She smiled, "I did a bit of re-writing the script, it needed tweaking a bit."

As they walked off arm in arm, Chakotay noticed that Seven hadn't moved from her position on the floor. She was still playing dead, at least he thought she was playing...........?

Kathryn looked at the still body and smiled.
